Veneers Before and After Results – How to Get a Celebrity Smile?

Content

How often have you looked at a celebrity and thought how lucky they were to be born with beautiful teeth. One glance at our veneers before and after celebrity photos gallery shows that is certainly not the case and that even celebrities have dental issues.

The good news is veneers aren’t just for celebrities. Here at Beyond Infinity Dental, our cosmetic dentistry services can help you attain those perfect smiles we see on the TV and in movies.

We can design a personalised treatment plan to help you get the smile you’ve only dreamed of having.

What are dental veneers, and how do they work?

Veneers are wafer-thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that cover the front surface of the teeth to conceal various imperfections and dental problems, including: dental veneers celebrity smile castle hill

  • Stains or discolouration
  • Cracks and fractures
  • Gappy smile
  • Mild crookedness
  • Misshapen teeth

If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your smile and you suffer from any of the above conditions, dental veneers could be a solution.

Porcelain veneers are the ultimate smile makeover, making you feel better about your looks and more confident.

Our quick guide covers everything involved in the procedure to help you decide if veneers are right for you.

Veneers before and after the procedure – A quick guide

The initial consultation

Like all cosmetic treatments, we ask patients to attend an initial consultation. Our dentist will perform an in-depth examination and take some x-rays to determine if the treatment is right for you.

The consultation also allows you to discuss how you’d like your new smile to look and ask any questions. Veneers are purely a cosmetic treatment and mainly conceal minor imperfections or misshapen teeth, so they aren’t suitable for everyone.

Thanks to our innovative digital smile design software, our dentist can show patients how their smiles will look before and after veneers so they can decide if the results meet their expectations.

Preparing for dental veneers

Patients may need other dental treatments before going ahead with veneers. If they have good oral health, a simple clean may be all that’s required. For best results, some patients opt for teeth whitening, and then the veneers can be colour matched to their newly whitened teeth for a seamless smile.

Underlying oral health issues like tooth decay or gum disease will need to be treated first. The healthier your teeth and gums, the longer the veneers are likely to last.

Dental veneers procedure – What to expect

Getting porcelain veneers typically requires two dental appointments with a few weeks between both visits.

1st appointment

During this appointment, the dentist will prepare the teeth receiving veneers by removing a thin layer of tooth enamel the same thickness as the veneer itself. This ensures the veneers sits flush within the smile and don’t impact the bite. You may feel slight discomfort before and after your temporary veneers are placed, but since the dentist will have numbed your mouth with local anaesthesia, you shouldn’t feel any pain.

Preparation done, the dentist takes an impression of the teeth to create a mould from which the dental lab will fabricate your custom porcelain veneers. You will then receive a set of ‘temporaries’ to wear while waiting for the permanent ones to be ready.

Your mouth is likely to feel tender and sore, and your teeth may feel sensitive. Don’t worry this is normal. Any pain can be managed with over the counter painkillers and following after-care instructions. You should feel back to normal within a few days.

Caring for temporary veneers

Temporary veneers require a soft food diet. They don’t have the durability or staying power of permanent veneers, so eating hard or crunchy foods could cause them to pop off or become loose. Should this happen, you must contact your dentist right away.

While it may seem a drag wearing’ temporaries’, keep in mind the veneers before and after pictures gallery and trust us when we say the wait for your dream smile will be worth it.

2nd appointment

The temporary veneers are removed with a drill during this appointment to ensure a good fit for the permanent set.

The surface of the teeth is etched for maximum adhesion, and the veneers are tried on for size.

The fit and bite are checked before bonding them securely in position.

Again, you may experience some sensitivity as your teeth adjust to your permanent veneers.

Bear in mind that it may take a few weeks to become accustomed to the feel of them in your mouth.

Long term care

Porcelain veneers are cared for in the same way as your natural teeth with good oral hygiene practices. You’ll need to brush twice a day for at least two minutes and floss once a day, preferably just before going to bed.

We also suggest limiting your consumption of coffee, red wine, tea and other food or beverages that could stain your dental veneers. While porcelain veneers are resistant to stains, they can stain over time. Unfortunately, they can’t be whitened like natural teeth.
