HALITOSIS
Bad Breath
Bad breath is the unpleasant odour in the mouth that has been formed from a buildup of bacteria excreting sulphur compound.
Some common causes of bad breath are:
- Poor oral hygiene
- Unhealthy Habits (smoking)
- Poor Diet or Specific foods (garlic, onion, tuna)
- Unhygienic dentures
- Dry mouth/lack of saliva flow
- Reflux or gastrointestinal issues
Treatment:
At Beyond Infinity Dental, a general 6-monthly checkup and clean is recommended to maintain a good oral hygiene.
While personal homecare such as regular brushing and flossing contribute to good oral hygiene, specific products are also recommended by our team to keep bad breath at bay.
If left untreated:
Bad breath can at times be a symptom of other underlying oral health issues. Gum Disease (Gingivitis) is one serious condition that may develop if bad breath is left untreated.
To prevent this from developing, book an appointment with Beyond Infinity Dental today for your general 6-monthly checkup and clean.
